Rubbermaid Idol Competition- Winfield, KS
1. REGISTRATION:
You must complete a CONTEST ENTRY FORM and return it to the Rubbermaid Idol representative prior to the act’s first performance. Contestants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must execute releases of liability and publicity. All expenses are the responsibility of the contestants. Age restrictions will be at the discretion of Rubbermaid and/or its venue.

2. DISPUTES:
The Rubbermaid Idol representative is authorized to resolve all disputes at the competition. Rubbermaid is the sole authority in resolving all disputes at the Qualifying, Preliminary, Semi-final and Final competitions and to disqualify any contestant at any level of the contest for failure to comply with the rules and regulations, including errors and omissions.
Rubbermaid’s decisions are final.

3. PERFORMANCE:
The following applies to any Rubbermaid Idol contest event:
A. Each act entered in the Rubbermaid Idol must perform only with the personnel listed on their entry form. No personnel changes or substitutions will be permitted once competition has begun. Once an individual withdraws from an act at any level of the Rubbermaid Idol competition, (s)he cannot perform at the next level.
B. Individuals may perform with only one act during any Rubbermaid Idol event. A maximum of two individuals will be permitted as a single act.

C. Each act must provide their own back up music to perform live, vocally and/or instrumentally. Acts can provide a CD of pre-recorded backup music, use a single instrument accompaniment or perform a cappella. No live “backup band” vocals are allowed.
D. Each act must perform live, vocally and/or instrumentally. No special lighting, props or special effects may be used.
E. The amount of performance time given to each local Rubbermaid Idol contestant will be determined by the local Rubbermaid

representative. Each contestant can perform for a maximum of three minutes.
F. All performances must be done in good taste; no music or lyrics that Rubbermaid or the judges considers to be offensive may be performed.
G. Contestants will be judged by a panel of judges. The panel of judges will have the final determination of winners.
H. Performances will be awarded 0-10 points in each of the followingcategories:

1) Marketability; 2) Vocal/Instrumental ability; 3)Originality; 4) Stage presence/charisma; 5) Talent.

I. In the event of a tie, the first tie-breaker shall be the highest number of points given in the Talent category. The second tiebreaker shall be the highest number of points awarded in the Stage Presence/Charisma category. The third tie-breaker shall be by a secret vote of the judges based on overall performance, style and impact.

4. CONTEST PRIZES:
The only official prize offered at the Qualifying Rubbermaid Idol level is the opportunity for the winner to advance to the Preliminary competition. Entry tickets to the Winfield Country Roundup for qualifying winners to compete in the subsequent competitions may be provided to the qualifying winners, at the Festival’s sole discretion. Qualifying Rubbermaid Idol contestants must pay their own expenses during subsequent competitions which will take place at the Winfield Country Roundup Festival. The Semi-finalist contestants will receive a Rubbermaid cooler and the opportunity to compete at the Final
competition.

The Final winner will receive the opportunity to perform on opening night of the 2009 Winfield Country Roundup Festival with a live band. Final winner will receive hospitality and event passes for the winner
and one guest. Details for this performance will be the sole discretion of the Winfield Country Roundup Festival. The winner, or winner’s parents or legal guardian (if winner is a minor), must execute an affidavit of eligibility within 30 days of the Rubbermaid Idol Final. Failure to comply may result in forfeiture of the prizes. Prizes are nontransferable. Winners shall be solely responsible for all taxes in connection with their prizes. Prizes won by minors will be awarded to a parent or legal guardian, if requested.

5. QUALIFYING, PRELIMINARIES AND FINAL ROUNDS:
A. The winners of the Qualifying Rubbermaid Idol events are eligible to compete in the Preliminary competition. Contestants may enter as many Qualifying competitions as they wish until winning. They must
complete a new entry form when entering another qualifying event. Winners of the preliminary rounds are eligible to compete in the Semifinal competition. Winners of the Semi-final are eligible to compete at the Final competition. Preliminary, Semi-final and Final competitions will be held at the Winfield Country Roundup Festival.
B. There will be approximately seven Qualifying events where winners will perform for a maximum of three minutes to win the opportunity to compete in the Preliminary rounds. Qualifying rounds are scheduled as
follows: April 12 at Derby, KS Wal-Mart; April 19 at Wellington, KS Wal-Mart; May 10 at Arkansas City, KS Wal-Mart; May 17 at Winfield, KS Wal-Mart; and May 29 at the Winfield Country Roundup Festival.
C. The Rubbermaid Idol Preliminary competitions will be held on Friday, May 30 at the Winfield Country Roundup Festival.
D. The Rubbermaid Idol Semi-final and Final competitions will be held on Saturday, May 31 at the Winfield Country Roundup Festival.

6. PROMOTIONAL AUTHORIZATION:
By submitting an Entry Form, the act (and each individual member thereof) grants to Rubbermaid, the radio station and the Winfield Country Roundup Festival the right to utilize the act’s (and each individual member thereof) name, likeness, image, voice, appearance, and performance in perpetuity worldwide for advertising, trade or any other lawful promotional purposes whatsoever, in any and all media now known or thereafter developed, without compensation. I/we grant Rubbermaid, the radio station and the Winfield Country Roundup Festival the right to broadcast, market, sell and otherwise distribute my name, image likeness, voice, appearance and performance, either in whole or in part for commercial, non-commercial television, closecircuit exhibition, home video distribution, internet, or any other purpose Rubbermaid, the radio station, Winfield Country Roundup Festival, in their sole discretion may determine. I/we hereby give all clearance, copyright or otherwise, for the use of my name, likeness, image, voice, appearance embodied in my/our performance/state presentation. If under 18 years of age, parent or guardian must sign the entry form.

7. ASSUMPTION OF RISK:
By submitting this entry form, the act (and each individual member thereof) assumes all risks of property damage or bodily injury (including death) that might occur during the Rubbermaid Idol events. The act (and each individual member thereof) agrees not to bring against Rubbermaid or other sponsors any claim for property damage or bodily injury (including death) that might occur during Rubbermaid Idol events.

8. GOOD CHARACTER:
The act agrees that it may be disqualified immediately from any level of Rubbermaid Idol competition if the act (or any member thereof) commits any act or becomes involved in any situation that would adversely reflect on Rubbermaid or any party furnishing a prize, or tend to bring it into public disrepute.

9. ELIGIBILITY:
Submit any questions regarding eligibility to Rubbermaid.
A. I/we are not an act with over two individuals.
B. I/we have not performed on a record listed in Billboard, Radio and Records, or the Gavin Report within eighteen months preceding local competition.
C. I/we (each) submitted an entry from before performing live at the Rubbermaid Idol events.
D. I/we are not an owner, controlling stockholder or employee of and I am/we are not related by birth or marriage, nor do I/we live in the same household as the Rubbermaid Idol judges, the radio station publicizing the contest, Winfield Country Roundup Festival, Rubbermaid, or parent company.
